Colorant

My lotion will leave your hands & body feeling silky soft in seconds. It is like wearing a silk glove once you put this lotion on.
The best part about it is it is very versatile. You can sub. butters for butters and oils for oils as long as they are the same amounts. Shea and Cocoa are my person favorites though. Hope you enjoy!

Mystic's Patchouli Paradise
Submitted by Kevin Rosenthal, FL
http://rosevalleysoaps.com

I made this as a special soap for my wife and I. I wanted a nice moisturizing bar that would combine conditioning and some restorative qualities as well. That is the reason for the addition of Emu oil. Here it is and I hope everyone enjoys it.

Mystic's Patchouli Paradise (Can be made with the Essential Oil of your choice, i.e. Lavender "Mystic's Lavender Paradise")

10 oz Olive Oil
5 oz PK Flakes
5 oz Coconut Oil
5 oz Safflower
4 oz Cocoa Butter
1 oz Castor Oil
2 oz Emu Oil

5 oz Water
5 oz Goats Milk
Silk Noir Fiber - pea sized ball added to water before adding lye.

Melt the Cocoa Butter and PK Flakes in a double boiler. When almost melted remove from heat and let the rest melt from the already melted portion. Add other oils except the emu and set aside

Add the lye to the water portion only. (Make sure to break the silk fibers into the water first)

Mix lye water into oils and mix with a stick blender for about 1 minuet. Add goats milk and bring to heavy trace and add the emu oil and blend for another few seconds to incorporate.

Transfer to Crock Pot and cook according to CPHP method.

Once it has become soap, mix with spoon and let cool slightly and add the patchouli eo. Then transfer to either a log mold or individual molds to setup.

Butter Trio Bar
Submitted by Sarah C. (LadyScales) - Lincoln, NE

I wanted to try and create an "extra special" bar soap for days when
someone really feels like they need pampering. I finally had a chance to
try my recipe yesterday and so far it looks and smells wonderful!

2.0 oz. Castor Oil
1.5 oz. Cocoa Butter
5.0 oz. Coconut Oil
1.5 oz. Mango Butter
10.0 oz. Olive Oil
6.5 oz. Palm, Lard or Tallow
5.0 oz. Palm Kernel Oil
1.5 oz. Shea Butter
1.0 oz. Stearic Acid

4.70 oz. lye for 5% discount
13 oz. distilled water

Scent blend (makes more than you need for above recipe):
1.5 oz. lavender EO
0.8 oz. spearmint EO
0.8 oz. lemon EO
0.6 oz. patchouli EO
0.3 oz. clary sage EO
0.3 oz. ylang ylang EO

I left this uncolored except for 2 T. of powdered carrot which I added to
the melted base oils before blending in the lye water. The soap is a creamy
tan color with darker little flecks from the carrot, and I used my small
divider mold to yield short, chunky (butter-pat) looking bars perfect for
holding in the palm of your hand as you lather. Extra EO blend can be used
for matching lotion, cream, etc.

Fairy Fizzy Silky Skin Delicacies
Submitted by N. Baker, Alabama

My “Fairy Fizzy Silky Skin Delicacies” recipe is really quite versatile. You can modify this recipe for any skin type. And, you can fragrance, color or herbally enhanced it to suit your mood. You see, the key to this recipe is You…… You can not mess this one up!

Coloring Your choice but make sure that you account for the liquid used, offset it if needed.
# of Fizzy's Made 10ish 20ish 30ish

Directions:

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl, including the dry herbs that you’ve chosen. Then stir & sift the ingredients until well blended. (You may want to wait to add your herbs until after you’ve sifted, then stir them in well.
  2. Next, combine the wet ingredients into a smaller bowl. Whisk well.
  3. Slowly begin to drizzle the wet mixture over the dry ingredients, concentric circles work well but, are not necessary J . But, never add all of the oil mixture just yet. Otherwise, you’ll risk making the Ooops, it Oozing Skin Delicacies.
  4. Stir the combined mixture until the oil is well blended into the dry ingredients. Ask yourself, or better yet perform a test. Can the dry/wet mixture hold together in a ball or mold shape? If yes, Yeah!!!! Celebrate and move on to the next step. Otherwise, drizzle some more of the wet mixture into the dry ingredient bowl. Repeat the process, as needed. (Drizzle, stir, test, repeat.) The goal here is for the dry/wet mixture to stick together whether in mold or shaped as a ball. But, without getting them too wet, either.
  5. Take a tablespoon or 2 sized glob of the mixture & shape into a ball. Or, press into a mold; hearts, sunflowers, or bon bons! If you’ve got an ice cream scoop it really helps making the ball shapes.
  6. Place balls (or shapes) on a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper.
  7. Let dry them air dry for 2 to 3 hours.
  8. Reshape balls, (squish them together, ever so slightly). Just to make sure your shape is shaping. If by any chance at this part your shapes fall apart, see the Oh No! Note. If by any chance they’re oozing see the Ooops, its Oozing Note.
  9. If they’re perfect, and I’m sure they are continue to let them air dry for 7 to 10 days.
  10. Then bag them up in a zippy bag or an air-tight container. If you need them earlier than this, go ahead and give them or use them for yourself! Not a problem.

Wrapping:
When your ready to Gift these babies, I like to wrap each one first in plain tissue paper and then in a decorative tissue paper or colored plastic wrap. (Do not wrap them too early or the oil in them will ruin your beautiful wrapping. Ask me how I know this….) Then set them in some more tissue paper. A piece of decorative paper on the outside, a piece of coordinating paper on the inside. Gather them up and around the individually wrapped Fizzies and tie together with decorative string. These make the perfect compliment to a lovely gift basket. (See the picture. They’re in the basket in the middle!)

Oil Combinations:
You can use any oil combination that works best for you. I like to use Sweet Almond oil, Apricot oil, Grapeseed oil, and Emu oil. But, don’t let these suggestions prevent you from using another oil that works better for you, use it! Substitute to your hearts content! And, just don’t’ use one oil, mix’em up! Combine, mix, measure, let the mood & occasion lead your path. There are no right way or wrong way.

Oh No!:
Dump the whole thing back into your large bowl. Mix up some more wet ingredients. If you’ve run out of something use an alternate oil. Don’t panic! There’s no need. See, you cannot mess this recipe up! Unless you add way too much oil and the whole thing oozes. Then see the Ooops, its Oozing Note.

Ooops, its Oozing:
Well, even when you’ve added too much oil and they’re oozing its still not completely ruined. It’s just not something you want to give to someone as a present. These are the presents you give to yourself! A whole bag of Clumpy Fairy Fizzy Silky Skin Delicacies! J Sometimes, you might need to make a batch of these just for yourself just about the time when your last bag is running a little low! Like I said, you can not mess this recipe up!

Good Luck & Most Importantly, Have Fun!!!
